Who / what

Hi — I'm a hobbyist who keeps a small homelab and, for reasons that made sense at the time, ended up running a couple of MultiConnect rCell 100 industrial LTE routers. This site is where I write down what I learn so I stop re-solving the same problems. It's a personal knowledge base, not a product site and not affiliated with any vendor.

If you found this while trying to get your own rCell online, I hope it saves you an afternoon.

Why this exists

Industrial cellular gear is well documented in the formal sense — there are datasheets and manuals — but a lot of the practical stuff (which LED blink means what, the settings that actually stop it flapping, the CGNAT gotcha) only lives in scattered forum posts and my own head. Writing it up as a small, cross-linked reference is easier to search than my notes app, and future-me is the main beneficiary.

Everything here is from hands-on use of my own units. Where I'm unsure I say so, and I'd rather leave a gap than invent a value.

The gear behind the notes

Other homelab bits (the firewall, the VPS that terminates my tunnels, the switches) show up in examples but aren't the subject here.

Colophon

This site is deliberately boring under the hood: hand-written static HTML and one CSS file, no JavaScript, no external fonts or scripts, no analytics, and no cookies. The diagrams are hand-drawn SVGs. It's small enough to host on a Raspberry Pi behind dynamic DNS, which is exactly what it does. If something here is flat-out wrong and you happen to know better, that's great — but there's intentionally no comment form or contact database to maintain.
